Overview
DOCDASH ("the App") is a document scanning and organization app. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. DOCDASH is designed to work fully offline by default — cloud features are optional and only activate if you choose to sign in.
Data We Collect
DOCDASH does not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, or behavioral tracking data. The only data the App handles is:
- Scanned document content — images and PDFs you capture or import, stored on your device (and, if you enable sync, in your account's cloud storage).
- Account information — if you create an account to enable cloud sync, we store your email address and an authentication identifier.
- App preferences — theme selection, tags, and settings, stored locally on your device.
Local Storage
By default, all documents, pages, tags, and settings are stored locally on your device. Nothing leaves your device unless you explicitly enable cloud sync or export/share a file yourself.
Cloud Sync & Accounts
DOCDASH offers optional cloud sync, powered by Supabase, a third-party backend provider. If you create an account and enable sync:
- Your document images and PDFs are uploaded to encrypted cloud storage tied to your account.
- Sync is used solely to keep your documents consistent across your own devices.
- You can disable sync at any time; previously uploaded documents can be deleted from your account on request.
Device Permissions
DOCDASH may request the following device permissions, each used only for its stated purpose:
- Camera — to scan documents directly within the App.
- Photo Library / Files — to import existing photos, PDFs, or files for scanning and organization.
- Biometrics (Face ID / Fingerprint) — to lock and unlock the App itself.
None of these permissions are used to collect data beyond what is necessary for the feature you're using.
Biometric Authentication
If you enable App Lock, biometric authentication (Face ID or fingerprint) is handled entirely by your device's operating system. DOCDASH never receives, stores, or transmits your biometric data — the App only receives a yes/no confirmation from the OS that you were authenticated.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share document content or personal information with advertisers or data brokers. Data is only shared with:
- Supabase, our cloud infrastructure provider, solely to operate optional sync and authentication.
- Authorities, if required to comply with a valid legal request.
Retention & Deletion
Locally stored documents remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. Cloud-synced documents and account data are retained until you delete them from your account or request account deletion by contacting us.
Security
Documents transmitted for cloud sync are encrypted in transit. Cloud storage access is scoped to your authenticated account. As with any software, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children's Privacy
DOCDASH is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can exercise these rights at any time by deleting content directly in the App, disabling sync, or contacting us using the details below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
